There have been significant advances in the treatment of acute microbial ischemia over the past two decades. The clinical trial of NINDS, a plasminogen activator of the recombinant recombinant tissue (rtPA) type, published in 1995, treated the acute ischemic stroke within 3 hours of the onset of the stroke. Ten years later, the MERCI clinical trial, using a retriever MERCImekanical thrombectomy, opened the endovascular period to manage brain damage within 8 hours of the onset of the stroke. Since then, the treatment window for rtPA has increased to 4.5 hours after the onset of stroke based on the ECASS III clinical trial, and various catheter and stent-based endovascular thrombectomy devices have been developed. Currently, interdisciplinary management, including medical, endovascular, and surgical procedures, is required to provide the best management for acute ischemic patients.
